MANHATTAN - A subway rider was pummeled in the face by a random attacker at a station near Radio City Music Hall, cops said.
At around 1:35 am on May 4, a 22-year-old male was waiting on the platform for the northbound N/R line at the 49th Street station. Cops said a man in a baseball cap walked up to him and, without warning, began punching him in the face. After repeatedly smashing his fist into the victim’s face, the attacker ran out of the station.
EMS transported the victim to Lenox Health Greenwich Village where he was treated and listed in stable condition.
The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect taken from inside the subway station by the turnstiles. He is described as a male with a light complexion who is 5 foot 6. He was last seen wearing a blue baseball cap, blue sweatshirt, blue jeans, blue sneakers and was carrying a blue backpack.
