Train Motorman Loses Teeth when Smashed in Face with Metal Pipe

Police are searching for this man in connection with an attack on a train operator. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Manhattan Voice August 29, 2023 NEW YORK - An MTA motorman is recovering after being struck in the face with a metal pipe by a deranged man on a subway train, cops said. Police released surveillance video taken from inside a subway station which appears to show the suspect holding a metal pipe. Investigators believe the assault stemmed from the train going out of service. At around 11:45 pm on August 27, a northbound C train was at the 168 Street-Washington Heights subway station when the train was deemed out of service. The 37-year-old motorman was helping clear the out of service train of passengers when he came upon the suspect. The man refused to leave the train and began arguing with the motorman. Crooks Ripped Off Women Near Tourist Attractions Throughout Manhattan Police are searching for these men in connection with a string of at least 10 chain snatchings throughout NYC. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice August 24, 2023 NEW YORK - From Katz’s Deli to Radio City Music Hall, a pair of scooter riding crooks are being sought in 10 robberies throughout Manhattan and Queens in which women had their necklaces and in some cases their earrings ripped from them, cops said.  From Soho to Hells Kitchen to Midtown, cops said the same crew struck nine times throughout Manhattan over a two-week period.  The first robbery occurred at around 1:45 am on August 5 in Soho. A 27-year-old woman was walking opposite 75 Thompson Street when the pair on the moped rode up behind her. Teen Stabbed in Park in Financial District

Police are searching for this man in connection with the stabbing of a teenager inside a park in the Financial District. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Manhattan Voice  August 22, 2023  NEW YORK - A 14-year-old boy is recovering after being stabbed in the chest by a man dressed in black during an argument inside a park in the Financial District.  At around 5 pm on August 20, a 14-year-old boy was inside Elizabeth Berger Park located at Edgar Street and Trinity Place. An unknown man with a pink bicycle approached him. Cops said the man then began arguing with the teen.  The fight got heated and then the bike rider punched the teen in the face. Cops said the attacker then pulled out a knife and plunged it into the teen’s chest.  The attacker hopped on his bike and fled westbound on Greenwich Street.  EMS rushed the teen to NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue where was treated. He is listed in stable condition.  Investigators released surveillance video of the suspect. One p

‘Good Samaritan’ Joins in Mugging in Meat Packing District

By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice August 21, 2023 NEW YORK - A mugging victim, who was badly beaten, appealed to a “Good Samaritan” who ended up stealing his cell phone, cops said.  At around 3:30 am on August 6, a 27-year-old was on Horatio Street in the Meat Packing District. Cops said three men walked up to him and began pushing and punching the victim. The group beat the victim repeatedly about the body.  The victim broke free and approached a fourth man who he thought was a bystander. He gave the “Good Samaritan” his cellphone and asked him to call 911 for help. Instead the “bystander” took the phone and ran off with the three other attackers. They all piled into a sedan. The car was last seen driving eastbound on Horatio Street.  Police released surveillance video taken from inside a nearby bodega. Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at  1-800-577-TIPS  (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
