MANHATTAN - A phony Fed Ex worker mugged a deliveryman of a package at a Washington Heights building, the NYPD announced.
At around 1 pm on May 9, a 33-year-old package deliveryman had just dropped off a package to an apartment building at 531 West 159th Street.
Cops said a man wearing a green baseball cap and a FedEx shirt attempted to retrieve the package.
The two men began arguing since the “FedEx” worker offered no proof that he was the intended recipient of the package.
Cops said the phony deliveryman pulled out a knife and threatened to stab the real deliveryman.
The thief then yanked the package out of the victim’s hands and dragged it outside. He then mounted a bicycle and rode off with one hand on the handlebars and the other awkwardly holding the package.
The NYPD released surveillance video of the robbery.
The suspect is described as a male with a medium complexion and thin build. He was last seen wearing a long sleeve shirt with “Fedex” logo, gray pants, green baseball cap, and black sneakers.
