Murder at Greenwich Village Train Station

File Photo By Dan Gesslein  Manhattan Voice  December 9, 2022  MANHATTAN - A body found yesterday at a Greenwich Village train station has been classified a homicide. Now cops are asking for the public’s help to catch a killer.  The medical examiner had determined the victim found on a subway platform had indeed been murdered after examining several lacerations on the victim’s torso. At around midnight on December 8, cops responded to a 911 call to the subway station at West 4 Street and 6 Avenue. Officers were investigating a call of an unconscious male on the platform. Cops found the unconscious male near the stairwell ramp area of the subway platform. EMS pronounced the man dead at the scene. Investigators said lacerations were found on the victim’s torso. On November 16, police announced the arrest of Blake Martinez, 22, of 10th Avenue in Manhattan, who was charged with murder, robbery, assault and criminal posession of a weapon. The arrest comes a little more than three-weeks after police announced the arrests of two Bronx men, Luis Rodriguez, 28, of Valentine Avenue in Kingsbridge Heights and Jeremy Lopez, 21, of Waldo Avenue in Kingsbridge, who were both charged in the killing.
