This is the second such attack on a cop during a protest near City Hall. At around 8:30 pm on February 29, police were conducting crowd control during a pro-Palestinian protest at Ann Street and Broadway near City Hall. Cops said a person dressed in black and donning a black mask walked up behind a police officer and punched him in the back. The attacker then ran away. Investigators just released a photo of the masked suspect. One week earlier an officer was struck with a bottle during a protest on the opposite side of City Hall.
