Police say this man who was wanted for vandalizing a Jewish sukkah, is a member of the FDNY.  By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice December 23, 2022 MANHATTAN - A member of the FDNY has been arrested and charged with vandalizing a Jewish sukkah and urinating inside the tent outside an Upper East Side synagogue during Sukkah.  Police arrested 37-year-old Marty Party, a member of the FDNY. He was charged with criminal mischief.  According to police at around 1 am on October 8, Party vandalized a sukkah outside at East 92 Street and 2 Avenue. He is accused of damaging the sukkah by kicking it over and then proceeding to urinate inside the tent.  A sukkah is a tent used as a temporary dining structure during the Jewish holiday of Sukkot.  No word if the case is being investigated as a hate crime. 

By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice December 23, 2022 MANHATTAN - Cops are searching for a man who punched an elderly Upper East Side man in an unprovoked attack.  At around 6:30 am on November 28, a 72-year-old man was walking in the vicinity of 3rd Avenue and East 81st Street. Suddenly a man walked up to him and punched him in the chest for no reason. The attacker fled.  The victim refused medical attention. Police released surveillance video of the suspect.   Rendering NEW YORK  – Con Edison is monitoring the winter storm that is expected to hit our region tonight, and Friday and mobilizing to respond to any service problems that may occur.   More than 700 outside workers have been scheduled to address power outages that may arise in New York City and Westchester County.   The wind could bring down power lines, causing customers to lose service and creating a safety hazard. In addition, road salt will mix with melting ice and could damage underground electrical wiring and lead to outages.   The company urges members of the public to stay away from downed wires. Prosecutors introduced photos into evidence at trial of drugs found inside furniture. NEW YORK - A jury convicted a Massachusetts man of running a drug trafficking ring smuggling cocaine inside furniture to locations in the Bronx and Yonkers.  Damian Williams, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced the conviction in Manhattan federal court of Abel Montilla for his participation in a cocaine trafficking scheme between 2018 and 2021.   “The unanimous jury verdict holds Abel Montilla accountable for his role in a widespread cocaine trafficking organization that flooded the streets with four tons of cocaine,” Williams said. “Montilla was a coordinator of the drug trafficking organization who traveled around the country to manage the delivery of the organization’s cocaine-filled furniture. He now faces the prospect of a lengthy prison sentence for his crime.” According to the allegations contained in the Superseding Indictment and the e

Police are searching for this man in a hate crime assault. By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice December 21, 2022 MANHATTAN - The NYPD is investigating a possible hate crime attack on Canal Street. Police released surveillance video of the suspect who could be homeless.  At around 7:45 pm on December 12, a 24-year-old man was walking down Canal Street and Broadway when a man in a baseball cap ran up to him. He punched the man in the face and shouted anti-gay statements, cops said.  The suspect then fled on foot in an unknown direction.  The victim refused medical attention at the scene.  The NYPD’s Hate Crime task force is investigating the assault as a possible hate crime.  The video released by police shows a disheveled man walking with what looks like a blanket and bedding. Anti-Semitic Rants in Unprovoked Attack Police are searching for this man with a bicycle and trailer with a sign that reads "hungry disabled." The suspect is wanted in connection with a hate crime assault. By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice December 20, 2022 MANHATTAN - Police released new photos of the man sought for attacking a man near Central Park while making Anti-Semetic remarks. At around 7:30 pm on December 14, a 63-year-old man was walking to the Central Park entrance at Terrace Drive and East Drive. Suddenly the man was struck from behind and he fell to the ground. The elderly man chipped his tooth and suffered a broken hand.  As the victim tried to get up, his attacker began shouting Anti-Semitic remarks before he hopped on his bike with his attached trailer. The victim told police that a sign on the back of the bike trailer read “Hungry Disabled.”  The victim went to a nearby hospital by private means. He was listed in stable condition. Poli

Police are looking for this turnstile jumper in connection with the robbery of a Chelsea smoke shop. By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice December 19, 2022 MANHATTAN - Police are searching for a pair of robbers who ripped off thousands of dollars worth weed-related products from a Chelsea smoke shop.  At around 7 pm on December 1, two men walked into a smoke shop at 304 8th Avenue in Chelsea. One of the hoodie wearing men pulled out a gun and demanded items.  Cops say they stole $3,500 worth of products from the store.  Police released surveillance video of the suspects. One of the suspects is seen wearing a black bubble jacket with a black hoodie underneath. He wore a black mask and sunglasses which hid his face. However, his partner was not so careful about hiding his identity.  In the video inside and outside the store, the accomplice had his face covered by a dark mask.
