Investigators believe the vicious beating and slashing was an unprovoked attack. The NYPD just released new surveillance video of a man suspected of beating and slashing a man during a random attack. At around 10:30 am on December 31, a 52-year-old man was standing in front of a Chinese Takeout restaurant at 2038 Amsterdam Avenue. Cops said a man dressed in black ran up to him and struck the victim in the back of the head with a bottle. Then the attacker began repeatedly punching the victim.
