Stuy Town Urinator Who Slashed  Man in Neck Busted - Cops Say The NYPD made an arrest in a slashing outside Stuy Town. Cops said the suspect attacked a man for yelling at him for urinating on a car. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Manhattan Voice February 23, 2024 MANHATTAN - Police arrested a suspect in the slashing of a Stuy Town man who tried to stop a man from urinating on a car. The NYPD announced the arrest of 32-year-old Roberto Ortiz from the Bowery. He was charged with attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a controlled substance and false personation. At around 5 pm on January 21, a 66-year-old man was in front of 404 East 14th Street outside Stuy Town. Cops said he witnessed a man urinating on a parked car and asked him to stop.  The urinator pulled out a box cutter and slashed the man in the neck causing massive bleeding, cops said. The victim was rushed by EMS to Mount Sinai Beth Israel where he is listed in critical condition. 

By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice December 7, 2022  MANHATTAN - A 69-year-old man was beaten to the ground and then stomped on during an unprovoked attack outside Stuy Town.  At around 9:50 pm on December 1, a 69-year-old man was walking down 14th Street when a man ran up behind him and punched him in the back of the head. The victim fell to the pavement outside 404 East 14th Street.  As the victim tried to get back up a second man came up to him and kicked him in the back causing him to fall again.  The attackers fled on foot southbound on 1st Avenue. Police say there is no motive for the unprovoked attack.  The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital where he is listed in stable condition. He sustained injuries to his head, legs and hands. The first suspect is a man with a medium complexion who is around 25 years of age. He is 5 foot 9 with a thin build and a mustache. Police are searching for a trio of pot smokers who attacked a building manager with a chair. By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice November 30, 2022  MANHATTAN - A building super was beaten with a chair when he asked a trio of pot smokers to stop smoking weed in the vestibule of the building he manages outside Stuyvesant Town across the street from a school. The elderly building manager suffered serious injuries. Police have released surveillance video of one of the suspects fleeing the scene of the attack. At around 6:20 pm on November 15, three people were smoking marijuana in the vestibule of a  building at 338 15th Street. When the 61-year-old building manager tried to remove them, they pounced.  One of the weed heads picked up a chair and struck the super in the head.  The group then ran away from the building. But not before one of them was caught on a nearby surveillance camera as she walked past a local fruit stand and several stores. The suspect was l
