Attacker Made Homophobic Remarks Before Slashing Subway Rider - Cops Say The NYPD has made an arrest in the hate crime slashing inside a subway train at Penn Station. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Manhattan Voice March 5, 2024 MANHATTAN - A Bronx man has been arrested for the hate crime slashing at Penn Station, the NYPD said. Police have arrested 46-year-old Milton Hamlin of the Grand Concourse for the subway slashing. Hamlin was charged with assault hate crime, assault, menacing hate crime and menacing. At around 11 pm on March 1, a 27-year-old man was riding the A Train approached 34th Street Penn Station. Cops said unprovoked, another man approached him and made anti-LGBTQ statements.  The attacker then pulled out a box cutter and went after the straphanger. The victim put up his hands to stop the blow and was slashed on his left hand.

Cops said unprovoked, another man approached him and made anti-LGBTQ statements.  The attacker then pulled out a box cutter and went after the straphanger. The victim put up his hands to stop the blow and was slashed on his left hand.  Cops said the victim fled the train at the station seeking help but the attacker remained on the train. Stuy Town Urinator Who Slashed  Man in Neck Busted - Cops Say The NYPD made an arrest in a slashing outside Stuy Town. Cops said the suspect attacked a man for yelling at him for urinating on a car. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Manhattan Voice February 23, 2024 MANHATTAN - Police arrested a suspect in the slashing of a Stuy Town man who tried to stop a man from urinating on a car. The NYPD announced the arrest of 32-year-old Roberto Ortiz from the Bowery. He was charged with attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a controlled substance and false personation. At around 5 pm on January 21, a 66-year-old man was in front of 404 East 14th Street outside Stuy Town. Cops said he witnessed a man urinating on a parked car and asked him to stop.  The urinator pulled out a box cutter and slashed the man in the neck causing massive bleeding, cops said. Police are searching for this man in connection with a slashing on the Number 6 train. By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice December 12, 2022  MANHATTAN - Police released new images of a man wanted in connection with the senseless subway slashing of an elderly man on the Number 6 train.  Police initially released a photo which showed that the suspect wore a long dark coat with a brown fur hood. The new photo shows the suspect had underneath the coat a thin multi-colored hoodie jacket.  In addition the new photo shows the suspect to have a thin build with more of his face exposed peaking out from beneath the hood and face mask. The older photo showed the man zipped up with the layers of jackets which made the suspect to appear to have a larger frame.
