Man Stabbed For Trying Stop Man Peeing in Front of Building  The NYPD is searching for this man in connection with a stabbing in Greenwich Village. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Manhattan Voice February 15, 2024 MANHATTAN - A man was stabbed when he tried to stop a person from peeing on his building in Greenwich Village, the NYPD said. At around 4 pm on February 14, a 27-year-old man was standing in front of his building at 63 Downing Street in Greenwich Village. The tenant saw a man urinating in front of the building and confronted him, cops said. The two men argued and the urinator pulled out a sharp object and stabbed the tenant in the right side of his stomach, cops said. The attacker fled on foot on Varrick Street. The victim was rushed by EMS to Bellevue Hospital for treatment. The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect. He is described as a male with a medium complexion and a slim build. He was last seen wearing a blue vest and black hooded sweatshirt

Smoke Shop Robbery Leads to 1 Arrest

Teen Arrested in Greenwich Village Smoke Shop Robbery The NYPD has made an arrest in the trio of suspects wanted for robbing a Greenwich Village smoke shop. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice February 9, 2024  MANHATTAN - The NYPD has announced the arrest of a teen suspect in the robbery of a Greenwich Village smoke shop last month.  Police arrested a 17-year-old male in connection with the January 19th robbery. The suspect, whose name is withheld because he is a minor, was charged with robbery and burglary. No word on the whereabouts of the other two suspects.  At around 11:50 am on January 19, three men dressed in dark colors and masks walked into the smoke shop at 333 Avenue of the Americas. Cops said the crew took items off the shelves and then threatened the store’s 21-year-old worker. No injuries were reported.  The crooks fled on foot in an unknown direction. 

Murder at Greenwich Village Train Station

Now cops are asking for the public’s help to catch a killer.  The medical examiner had determined the victim found on a subway platform had indeed been murdered after examining several lacerations on the victim’s torso. At around midnight on December 8, cops responded to a 911 call to the subway station at West 4 Street and 6 Avenue. Officers were investigating a call of an unconscious male on the platform. Cops found the unconscious male near the stairwell ramp area of the subway platform. EMS pronounced the man dead at the scene. Investigators said lacerations were found on the victim’s torso.
