Cops Nab Subway Slasher

By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice December 15, 2022 MANHATTAN - Cops say they have arrested a homeless man for the subway slashing in which an elderly man was slashed in the head and ear on the Number 6 train.  The NYPD announced the arrested of Sergio Garvin, 42, who is homeless. He has been charged with assault. At around 3 am on December 8, a 66-year-old man was on board a southbound Number 6 train. As the train approached the 33rd Street and Park Avenue Station, a man in a brown coat with fur hood and wearing a black mask approached him. Without a word or warning he pulled out a sharp object and slashed the straphanger in the head and ear.  When the train stopped at the station the attacker jumped off and fled to the street above.  The victim was rushed to Bellevue Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

Slashed on the 6 Train in Unprovoked Attack

Police are searching for this man in connection with an unprovoked slashing on the Number 6 train.  By Dan Gesslein  Manhattan Voice  December 9, 2022  MANHATTAN - Cops are looking for a man who slashed a retiree on the Number 6 train in another unprovoked subway attack.  At around 3 am on December 8, a 66-year-old man was onboard a southbound Number 6 train. As the train approached the 33rd Street and Park Avenue Station, a man in a brown coat with fur hood and wearing a black mask approached him. Subway Rider Slashed in Face in Unprovoked Attack

Police are looking for this person in connection with a subway slashing on the Upper West Side. By Dan Gesslein  Manhattan Voice  December 2, 2022  MANHATTAN - A subway rider was slashed in the face with a razor in an unprovoked attack on the Upper West Side.  Police released surveillance video from the subway turnstiles showing the man they say is a suspect in the attack.  At around 9:45 pm on November 29, a 49-year-old man was riding a northbound Number 2 train. As the train approached the 72 Street/Broadway station, a young man walked up to him and slashed him across the face with a razor.  The attacker walked off the train when it reached the station and fled to the street above. Investigators said the attack was unprovoked.  The victim suffered a gash across his nose.
