Subway Performer Hit in Head with Bottle at Herald Square The NYPD is searching for this woman in connection with an assault on a subway musician. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice February 14, 2024 MANHATTAN - A straphanger apparently did not like a subway performer’s music, when, cops say, she hit the musician upside the head with a metal bottle.  At around 5:45 pm on February 13, a 29-year-old musician was playing at the mezzanine of the 34th Street/ Herald Square Station. Cops said a woman walked up to the male playing music and struck him in the head with a metal bottle causing a deep cut.  The attacker fled the station.  The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect. She is described as a female with a light complexion and slim build. She is believed to be 5 foot 3. She was last seen wearing a brown fur coat, black winter hat, burgundy scarf and a multicolored bag across her body. Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call

Cops Nab Suspect in Assault on Cancer Patient, Age 91 The NYPD announced the arrest of a suspect wanted in connection to an assault on a 91-year-old man on the Upper East Side. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice February 12, 2024 MANHATTAN - Cops nabbed the suspect wanted in the brutal beating that put a 91-year-old man in the hospital.   The NYPD announced the arrest of 45-year-old Christian Torres of Brooklyn. He was charged with attempted robbery.  NYPD officials said Torres was recognized by officers in Harlem. The suspect had just exited the Number 6 train when officers recognized Torres from the wanted posters.  NYPD officials say Torres has multiple prior arrests.  At around 10:30 am on February 1, a 91-year-old man, Hyman Silverglad, was walking in front of 350 East 86th Street on the Upper East Side. Man Assaulted with a Metal Pipe During Argument  The NYPD is searching for this man in connection with an assault on a man with a metal pipe. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Manhattan Voice  February 12, 2024  MANHATTAN - Cops are looking for the suspect who bashed a man in the head with a metal pipe during a beatdown in Chinatown, the NYPD said.  At around 3:40 am on January 30, two men were arguing in front of 83 Baxter Street in Chinatown. Investigators did not comment on whether the two men knew each other or what they were arguing about.  As the argument got heated, one of the men picked up a metal pipe and began bashing the other in the head, cops said. The attacker struck the man multiple times in the head with the pipe and then ran off.  The victim was rushed the Bellevue Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.  The NYPD released new surveillance video of the suspect. Robber Targeted Elderly Women Stole Purses, Macs  The NYPD announced an arrest in a series of robberies throughout Manahttan. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Manhattan Voice  February 8, 2024  MANHATTAN - A robber who swiped a pair of MacBooks, as well as purses containing thousands in cash, was busted for a series of thefts dating back to November, the NYPD said.  Police announced the arrest of 22-year-old Elijah Gay of Brooklyn. Gay was charged with robbery, grand larceny, criminal posession of stolen property, criminal possession of a weapon and fare evasion. Cops believe Gay is connected to at least five robberies throughout Manhattan.  The first case was on November 12 inside the Broadway Lafayette Subway Station. Cops said the thief approached a 43-year-old woman from behind and removed her MacBook valued at $1,200.  On January 4, a 74-year-old woman was in her car parked opposite the Frick on Madison Avenue. Chelsea Assault Arrest, NYPD Searching for Another Suspect The NYPD made one arrest and are searching for a second suspect in the assault and robbery of a man in Chelsea on Christmas Eve. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice February 8, 2024 MANHATTAN - For the NYPD it’s one down and one to go in the vicious Chelsea Christmas Eve assault and robbery.  The NYPD announced the arrest of Yanoadiael Acosta of Washington Heights in the December 24th Chelsea mugging. Acosta was charged with robbery and misapplication of property. Another suspect is still being sought by cops.  At around 4 am on December 24, a 23-year-old male got into an argument with a group of individuals in the vicinity of 22nd Street and 7th Avenue in Chelsea. Cops said the dispute turned violent as the fight became physical leading two members of the group to chase after the man.  The victim was chased across the street but was caught by the attackers.
