Knife-Wielding Man Arrested Near FDR Drive

Citizen Video - Arrested for Waving Knife in Bowery Officers take a man into custody for allegedy waving around a knife near the FDR Drive. -Photo by Citizen app By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice October 31, 2024 Follow @x MANHATTAN - A man seen waving a knife near the FDR Drive was busted by cops early this morning, Citizen app is reporting.  At around, 7:50 am on October 31, police responded to reports of a man waving a knife in front of a school at 442 E Houston St. Officers on the scene did not find the man near the school.  A search found the suspect near East Houston Street and the FDR Drive. There they found the man waving a knife, cops reported. The man was taken into custody without incident.  Citizen app video shows the officers swarming around the location while the man was arrested.  No injuries were reported at this time. 

Shoplifter Attacks Worker Over 20 Bottles of Dish Soap

Uses Razor Scooter for Getaway The NYPD is searching for this man who assaulted a female employee when he shoplifted bottles of dish soap.  -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein ManhattanVoice October 31, 2024  NEW YORK - Cops are looking for a man who attacked a Dollar Tree worker for trying to stop him from stealing a case of dish soap.  At around 1 pm on October 17, the male dressed in a black hoodie, walked into the Dollar Tree store at 6410 Amboy Road, on Staten Island. There cops said the man scooped up 20 bottles of dish soap and tried to leave the store without paying.  A 21-year-old female employee tried to stop the shoplifter from leaving. However, the robber pushed her down before running out of the store. Once outside, the thief hopped on a razor scooter and kicked himself away from the location.  The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect. NEW YORK - New Yorkers with disabilities who live in Manhattan no longer have to travel as far as the South Shore of Staten Island for Access-A-Ride eligibility screenings. The MTA on Wednesday opened the first assessment center in the borough since January 2022, when a center on West 13th Street stopped performing evaluations for new and existing paratransit users. Located at 3 Stone Street, around the corner from the transit agency’s Lower Manhattan headquarters, the new center offers screenings for people whose disabilities may restrict or prevent them from taking trains and buses. The new images clearly shows the suspect carrying a insulated food delivery bag on his back.  At around 5 am on October 26, a 38-year-old woman was walking in the vicinity of 85 East Drive in the northern tip of the park. Cops said the suspect rode up to her and then pushed the woman over a metal fence.  The attacker then repeatedly punched the woman in the face and tried to rape her, investigators said. However, the suspect hopped on his e-bike and rode off without raping her.  Cops said he drove out of the park and fled northbound on 5th Avenue.  EMS transported the victim to an area hospital where she was treated and was listed

Cops said she removed various items off the shelves and put them in her baby stroller. When she tried to leave the store without paying she was confronted by a 25-year-old store employee.  Cops said the shoplifter repeatedly punched the worker in the face and then fled.
