At around 4:45 pm on August 17, a 29-year-old man was riding a northbound A Train. Cops said a man walked up to the straphanger and began yelling “derogatory anti-LGBTQ remarks.” Then the man spouting hate punched the straphanger in the face. When the train pulled into the 59th Street and Columbus Circle station, the attacker ran out of the subway car. The victim suffered pain to his face and back and sought medical attention. Cops said he went to NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center for treatment. The case is being investigated by the NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force. The NY...
