Women Targeted by Mobile Muggers The NYPD is searching for mulitple suspects in a string of chain snatchings using e-bikes. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice September 25, 2024 Follow @x MANHATTAN - A crew of e-bike riding thieves have been ripping necklaces off women near Lincoln Center and Hell’s Kitchen, cops said. The NYPD announced yesterday that they are searching for a group of five young men for at least three chain snatchings. Investigators said in each case the suspects used either a moped or an e-bike to target women in Hell’s Kitchen and around Lincoln Center. In the first case, a 64-year-old woman was injured during the mobile mugging. At around 8 pm on August 5, the woman was walking near the corner of West 65 Street and West End Avenue . Cops said a pair on a moped rode up behind her. The passenger on the bike ripped the necklace off the woman and then pushed her to the ground. The thieves rode off in an unknown direction.
