Man Choked During Attack The NYPD is searching for this man in connection with a hate crime attack on the subway. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice July 8, 2024 Follow @Bronxvoice1 MANHATTAN - A man was choked inside a Manhattan subway car during an apparent anti-gay attack, cops said. At around 4:30 pm on May 25, a 35-year-old man was riding a southbound A Train when he was approached by a man. Cops said without warning the suspect grabbed the straphanger by the throat and began punching the victim in the chest. As he assaulted the victim, cops said, the attacker made anti-LGBTQ slurs. When the train stopped the attacker ran out of the subway and the station in an unknown direction. The victim refused medical attention at the scene. The case is being investigated by the NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force. Investigators released a photo of the suspect.
