Investigators released new surveillance video of the suspect.  At around 2:30 am on April 7, a 30-year-old woman was waiting on the northbound F train platform at the Rutgers Street and East Broadway subway station. A man walked up behind the straphanger and she began to walk away. The NYPD is searching for this man in connection with an assault on a straphanger in the Flatiron District. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice March 26, 2025 MANHATTAN - The NYPD is looking for a man dressed as if he was going to the office or an author reading instead of a violent assault that wounded a straphanger in the Flatiron District.  At around 11 pm on March 17, 55-year-old man was at the turnstiles inside the 23rd Street Station Subway when he was approached by a man in a pink shirt who asked the straphanger to swipe his MetroCard to allow him to enter the turnstile. When the man refused the deadbeat attacked.  Cops said the suspect pushed the straphanger to the ground causing him to strike his head on the metal turnstile.  The attacker then fled the subway station. Charity scams can happen at any time, but they are often more prevalent during the holiday season when donors are moved by both generosity and the end-of-year deadline for securing tax deductions. On many occasions, these fraudsters pretend to be affiliated with well-known organizations or even the government to scam people out of their hard-earned money. According to the  Federal Trade Commission , there were 9,809 reports of charitable solicitation fraud nationwide in 2023, but many of these scams go unreported because individuals may not know where their donations are going or that they are being scammed. “The holiday season is here, and many New Yorkers are looking for ways to donate to their favorite causes through charitable organizations,” said Secretary of State Walter T. ...

The thief struck within 30 minutes. The first took place around the corner from the 40th Precinct in the Bronx. The robbery spree began around 3:40 pm on August 26. A 32-year-old man was in front of 349 East 139 th  Street in Mott Haven. Cops said a man dressed in black walked up to the victim and ripped three chains off the victim’s neck. At around 3 pm on November 7, an 84-year-old male was walking down Park Avenue. When he was in front of 570 Park Avenue a young man ran up to him.  Cops said the young man, seen on surveillance video donning a back pack and carrying a shopping bag, ran up behind the senior. The attacker punched the elderly man on the right side of his head and shoulder.  The attacker than ran off westbound on East 63rd Street towards Madison Avenue.  The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect who is described as a male with dark complexion and medium build.
