MANHATTAN - A Bronx woman was arrested in connection with the pepper spray attack of a 68-year-old woman at the Lincoln Center station. An argument over alleged fair evasion could have been the motive for the attack in which the victim was sprayed in the face.

Police arrested Fraylee Liranzo, 26, who lives near Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. Liranzo was charged with assault of a person over the age of 65.

Published reports claim that the woman was attacked after she confronted a group of women who had jumped the turnstiles to gain entrance to the subway platform without paying.

At around 3 pm on July 17, a 68-year-old woman was standing on the subway platform of the Number 1 train at the West 66th Street and Lincoln Center station. The woman was talking to a group of females at the platform confronting them on their alleged fair evasion, published reports said.

The suspect told the victim to “mind her business” before spraying her in the face with pepper spray, cops said.

The suspect fled the subway station and ran off in an unknown direction.

Cops released what appears to be a photo of the suspect from a camera on a cell phone. In the photo, the woman is pressing her finger on an object attached to her key chain. Cops said that object was a pepper spray dispenser.

The victim was treated by EMS on the scene.
