MANHATTAN - Cops arrested a Queens man in the stabbing of a straphanger inside a Manhattan subway car.

Police arrested 18-year-old Angelo Rivera of Queens. He was charged with attempted murder and assault.

At around 4:45 am on April 7, a 34-year-old man was riding on a northbound E train. As the train approached 53rd Street and Lexington Avenue, three unknown men approached the victim and began arguing with him. Cops said the dispute escalated and turned physical, with the man trying to fend off his attackers.

Cops said one of the attackers pulled out a knife and repeatedly stabbed the victim in the back.

Once the train stopped at the station, the attackers fled.

The victim was rushed to Bellevue Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
