NEW YORK - A subway passenger at the Columbia University station caught a beating by a fellow female straphanger who punched him in the face. Cops said the victim accidentally elbowed the attacker when the train jostled entering the station.
Police have released a cell phone photo of the tattooed and pierced suspect.
At around 8 pm on September 10, a 27-year-old straphanger was seated inside a northbound Number 1 subway car. As the train pulled into the 116 Street- Columbia University subway station, the victim accidentally elbowed the rider seated next to him.
Without warning the woman sitting next to him punched the straphanger in the face, cops said. She then hopped off the train when it arrived at the station.

The attacker ran out of the station to the street above.
EMS took the victim to Mount Sinai Morningside where he is listed in stable condition.
The suspect is described as a woman with a light complexion and medium build. She has a tattoo on her left arm. She also has a nose piercing and gauge earrings.
