Arrest Made in Crowbar Attack on Turkish Consulate

Police say this man busted out the windows of the Turkish Consulate using a crowbar. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Manhattan Voice  May 26, 2023  MANHATTAN - Police have made an arrest in the crowbar attack on the Turkish Consulate. The attacker busted out 10 windows to the consulate using a crowbar.  Police arrested 29-year-old Recep Akbiyik of Brooklyn. He was charged with attempted burglary, two counts of criminal posession of a weapon, making terroristic threats, criminal mischief and two counts of menacing.  At around 3 am on May 22, a man walked up to the Turkish Consulate on 1st Avenue, across the street from the United Nations headquarters. The man swung the crowbar into numerous windows causing them to shatter.  No one was injured in the attack.  After knocking out the windows, the suspect fled southbound on 1st Avenue.

High-End Boutique which Sells $500 Hoodies Ransacked Police are searching for five men who robbed a high-end boutique of $10,000 worth of clothing. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice May 26, 2023 MANHATTAN - A worker was thrown to the ground when a teen flash mob ransacked a high-end clothing store in the Bowery making off with $10,000 in clothes.  According to police at around 5 pm on May 25, a group of teens entered Ava Galleria in the Bowery and began grabbing clothes off the rack.  The high-end store is known for its $500 hoodies and $200 t-shirts.   The six teens grabbed armfuls of clothes and attempted to leave the store without paying. A 24-year-old female employee tried to stop the shoplifters but was quickly thrown to the ground by the thieves.  Cops said the clothing stolen is valued at $10,700.   The employee suffered non-life-threatening injuries. She refused further medical treatment at the scene.  One...

Thieves Stick Up 4 Biz Throughout Manhattan

Police are looking for these four men in connection with a string of commercial robberies throughout the city. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice May 25, 2023 MANHATTAN -  Cops are looking for a robbery crew, they say, hit four commercial establishments throughout Manhattan. Multiple getaway cars were used in the robbery spree. At around 4 pm on May 23, four men entered a commercial establishment at 90 West Houston Street. Cops said one of the crew members simulated having a handgun under his sweater and demanded that the 19-year-old hand over property. The other three robbers then reached over the counter and removed $1,400 worth of merchandise, cops said.  Then the crew fled the store and hopped into a dark colored Honda Sedan.  At around 3 am on April 30, two men entered a store at 423 9th Avenue.
