MANHATTAN - Police arrested a suspect in the slashing of a Stuy Town man who tried to stop a man from urinating on a car.


The NYPD announced the arrest of 32-year-old Roberto Ortiz from the Bowery. He was charged with attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a controlled substance and false personation.


At around 5 pm on January 21, a 66-year-old man was in front of 404 East 14th Street outside Stuy Town. Cops said he witnessed a man urinating on a parked car and asked him to stop. 


The urinator pulled out a box cutter and slashed the man in the neck causing massive bleeding, cops said.


The victim was rushed by EMS to Mount Sinai Beth Israel where he is listed in critical condition.
