Follow @Bronxvoice1MANHATTAN - An elderly man was attacked on the Upper West Side in Central Park by a bike riding anti-Semite, cops said. The case is being investigated as a possible hate crime.
At around 6 pm on July 13, a 70-year-old man was walking on West Drive in Central Park on the Upper West Side. Cops said a man riding a bike rode up behind him and began arguing.
Suddenly the bike rider punched the elderly man in the upper body. The attacker made an anti-Semitic remark before riding off.
The victim sustained minor injuries but was not hospitalized.
The case is being investigated by the NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force.
Investigators released surveillance video of the suspect seen riding the rental bike in the park.
The suspect is described as a male with a slim build and medium complexion. He was last seen wearing an orange baseball hat, a white t-shirt, black pants, black sneakers, and carrying a cross-body black bag.
