MANHATTAN - The NYPD has identified the victim found dead in a Central Park playground with multiple cuts over his body. Police are investigating the death as a possible suicide. 


The victim has been identified as 37-year-old Ian Stapp of Flatbush, Brooklyn. Stapp’s body was discovered at around 8:30 am yesterday in the vicinity of a playground at Center Drive and 62nd Street. 


Cops said a Central Park Conservancy worker found the body in the playground which had multiple lacerations. Investigators said the victim had multiple cuts to his neck, chest and stomach. Cops found a knife in the victim’s pocket in he hoodie he was wearing.

BRONX - As Bronx families are left looking for housing following a partial building collapse, officials happily announced that the FDNY found no victims in the rubble.

“Our preliminary theory and investigation indicates that his injuries could have been self-inflicted,” said NYPD Assistant Chief Ruel Stephenson, commander of Patrol Borough Manhattan North during a press briefing on the matter. 


The city’s Medical Examiner’s Office will determine a cause of death.
