Cops Make Arrest in Grand Central Beat Down

MANHATTAN - Police have arrested a Queens man in connection with the assault of a straphanger at Grand Central Station. 



Cops announced the arrest of 33-year-old Rodney Smalls of Edgemere, Queens. Smalls was charged with assault.


 

At around 5:50 am on June 14, a 43-year-old man was waiting for a Number 7 train at the 42nd Street- Grand Central Station. Cops said the straphanger got into a verbal dispute with another man in the mezzanine of the Midtown subway station. 


 

Suddenly the other man began to repeatedly punch the straphanger in the face, cops said. After stunning the victim, the attacker hopped on a Queens bound Number 7 train. It is unclear which station he left the train. 


Cops said the victim later went to NYC Health and Hospitals/ Jacobi in the Bronx where he was treated for minor injuries.
