Large Group of Females and Males Rob Couple in Alphabet City

NEW YORK - A large group of females and males robbed a couple in Alphabet City. Police released numerous video images of the suspects, some wearing shower caps and hoodies, others look like students.




At around 3:45 am on September 17, a 22-year-old female and a 23-year-old male were walking in the vicinity of East 12th Street and Avenue C when they were approached by a large group of youths.


Cops said the group of 8 males and 4 females surrounded the couple. The victims told police that one member of the group pulled out an unknown weapon. The group then pounced - forcibly removed the victims’ purse, wallet, cellphones and debit cards.


The group then ran off.



The female victim sustained minor injuries but refused medical treatment.


Police released surveillance video of the suspects. One suspect was a female with a light complexion who wore glasses and has black hair. She wore dark clothing and was seen rolling a pink suitcase that was on wheels.








Another female suspect has a dark complexion. She wore a shower cap and a dark hoodie. She was also seen seeing a black purse over her shoulder.


Another distinctive suspect wore a tie dye hoodie that was light blue and orange.


Another male suspect wore ripped blue jeans.
