MANHATTAN - The swaggering teen Times Square shooter who opened fire on a security guard and police was reduced to tears when law enforcement officials caught up with him less than 24 hours after the shooting.

Jesus Alejandro Rivas-Figueroa, 15, was arrested in Yonkers at 3 pm today and officials photographed the teen crying as he was led off in cuffs. The migrant was arrested by members of the US Marshals Joint Regional Fugitive Task Force and the NYPD.

At a press conference on Friday evening, NYPD officials said Rivas-Figueroa had family ties to Yonkers.

The case is still under investigation.

In his short stay in NYC since arriving from Venezuela in September, cops said Rivas-Figueroa has been involved in several crimes. Investigators believe the migrant was involved in an armed robbery in the Bronx in January as well as a shooting in Midtown.

At around 7 pm last night, a security guard inside JD Sports noticed three men shoplifting. When the guard tried to confront the shoplifters, one of the crew pulled a gun out from shoulder strap and opened fire.

The bullet missed the security guard but hit a 37-year-old female tourist from Brazil who was shopping in the store at the time. She was treated at Bellevue Hospital and is in stable condition.

The gunman fled the scene by running through Times Square with officers in pursuit.

Cops said the suspect opened fire at the officers who did not return fire on the busy Times Square streets.
